Key features:
Analog input
No compromise in signal quality!
Each analog input of any DEWE-ORION card has its own A/D converter. All input channels are sampled simultaneously (at exactly the same time). This ensures high quality measurement data and avoids possible errors caused by sampling delay.
Counter input Count anything and synchronized!
DEWETRON counters are phase synchronized. DEWETRON has advanced the state-of-the-art in counter/encoder inputs in our data acquisition systems, improving yet again our ORION-counters.
The key advancement is that our counters are PHASE SYNCHRONIZED. Referring to the diagram, you can see that a standard counter is always a sample behind. With software interpolation you can get closer, but only with DEWETRON’s advanced time shifting technology are both - the phase and amplitude - fully corrected.
The following counter modes are supported:
Any sensor is supported:
Differential counter inputs are available besides the standard TTL level input.
The differential counter inputs offer an input voltage range from -35 to 60 V with AC/DC coupling and as a special feature there are programmable threshold levels (or trigger levels) from 0..40 V to support any signal waveform.
Digital I/O
Synchronized, what else.
For the digital inputs there is also a choice of TTL level and differential version. The same specification as for the counters applies.
100V overvoltage protection for the differential digital inputs is a clear differentiator to competitive cards.
CAN interface
There are 2 high-speed CAN controllers on certain DEWE-ORION cards. And of course these inputs are synchronized too.
Synchronisation
An ORION-SYNC card is available for external synchronisation to timing devices like GPS or IRIG. Or to synchronize several instruments to increase the total channel count.
The synchronisation can be done by a CAT5e (or better) RJ45 cable for distances up to 200 meters (the max. distance is depending on the ORION model).
For bigger distances a timing device like GPS-CLOCK or IRIG-CLOCK is used. These devices either can be installed inside the instruments or be external.
